(Re)Connected Community

Are you passionate about making your community a safer place? Do you believe in the power of building on local assets, strengths and relationships

STOPS to Violence would love to work with you!

‘Connected Community’ uses an Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach to start with what’s strong, not what’s wrong in local communities.
It is a way to see communities as full of potential that can be leveraged for solutions to their needs and problems.

Click here to learn more about the initiative.

This call is for community members who want to:

  • Help to bring community together to learn and talk about how to make the community safer, support healthy relationships and nurture strong families

  • Work together to address safety challenges and improve community well-being

  • Focus on strengthening relationships and connections in your community

Who are we looking for?

  • This initiative for smaller communities with a population of 2500 people
    or
    less

  • Smaller communities that are located in central or southern Saskatchewan

  • This includes towns, villages, and First Nations

All that is needed is a group of 3-5 people to form an Exploration Team and invest time in planning and hosting a community meeting to learn more about the Connected Communities initiative. The Exploration Team can be anyone! Community members, service agencies, human services providers, Municipal or First Nations staff, youth, business owners… and you.

Contact Nofa Slaeman here to express interest and see if this initiative is a fit for your community.

We acknowledge that we are on the land of the First Nations peoples and the homeland of the Metis.
We commit to moving forward in a respectful way in the spirit of reconciliation.
